His nomination was spearheaded by Lynn Wilt, principal of John Paul II Academy, the regional Catholic school located on the campus of St. Pius X.

The NCEA also has honored Cathy Guizio, principal of St. Martha School, as the southern region’s Distinguished Elementary Principal.

Guizio and Father Burks will be honored during the Archdiocese of Louisville’s Catholic Schools Week liturgy on Jan. 29, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church. They will be recognized by the NCEA during a ceremony in Houston on April 2, 2013.
