Father Lawrence Lindle dies at 84

Father Lawrence H. Lindle, a retired priest of the Archdiocese of Louisville, died on Sept. 10 at Nazareth Home. He was 84 and had been a priest for 57 years.

Father Lindle, a native of Louisville, served as director of the Sacred Heart Center and the Marian Center until his death.

He served as pastor of St. Paul Church, Immaculate Conception Church in Culvertown, Ky., and the former St. Mark Mission in Greenbrier, Ky. He served as associate pastor of Guardian Angels Church, the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown, Ky., St. Gabriel Church and the former St. Matthias Church and St. Mildred Church in Somerset, Ky., (now part of the Lexington Diocese), and its missions.

He is survived by his sister Ursuline Sister Lois Jean Lindle and brother Raymond Leo Lindle, nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Sept. 14 at St. Bartholomew Church, 2042 Buechel Bank Road, where he celebrated his first Mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
