‘Empty Bowls’ fundraiser to be at Bellarmine Oct. 6

Empty Bowls, a soup dinner and pottery sale to benefit Highlands Community Ministries, will be held Oct. 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Frazier Hall at Bellarmine University, 2001 Newburg Road.

The 20th annual fundraising dinner includes soup, prepared by local chefs and served in pottery handmade by local potters; fruit; bread and cheese. It’s designed to remind participants of the ministries’ work of providing food to those in need.

The event also includes a silent auction and the opportunity to buy the donated pottery.

Highlands Community Ministries is supported by 22 congregations in the Highlands, including several Catholic churches.

Tickets are $35 with the purchase of a bowl; $15 for soup only and $5 for children ages 12 and under. For reservations, call 451-5906 or visit hcmlouisville.org.
