Community honors fallen soldier

Students from DeSales High School stood silently waving American flags in front of Our Mother of Sorrows Church shortly before the funeral of Corporal Aaron Faust. Cpl. Faust was a 2007 graduate of DeSales High School. He died April 15 in Helmand Province in Afghanistan while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Dozens of people gathered outside Our Mother of Sorrows Church at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Ellsworth Avenue to honor Cpl. Aaron Faust. Cpl. Faust died April 15 in the Helmand Province in Afghanistan while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was 22 years old. His funeral was held today, April 25, at 10 a.m.

Members of the community stood silently waving American flags as they waited for the family to arrive at the church. Cpl. Faust was a 2007 graduate of DeSales High School.
