Communion Minister Formation sessions offered Nov. 5 and 12

Communion Minister Formation sessions will be offered Nov. 5 and 12 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road.

Communion Minister Formation is a four-hour program for those preparing to serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion as well as those who are presently serving in this role but have not attended this program in the past. The sessions include the theology of the Eucharist, liturgical ministry, and the practical aspects of the role of the communion minister. The program fulfills the training portion of the canonical mandate ( 5year) required for this ministry.

There is no fee for EMHC formation, but registration is required. The program is funded by the Catholic Services Appeal.
