Christmas stamp unveiled at Assumption

The Virgin and Child Christmas stamp issued by the United States Postal Service (USPS) was unveiled at Assumption High School Nov. 10. The stamp is a re-issue of the 2013 Christmas stamp, which features a detail of Jan Gossaert’s 1531 oil-on-wood painting, “Virgin and Child,” from the collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art. The USPS will also offer an Assumption High School Christmas postmark. The postmark will be available at the Cherokee Station post office, 2240 Taylorsville Road. The postmark may also be obtained by sending stamped cards in a larger stamped envelope to Assumption Station, 2170 Tyler Lane, Louisville, Ky., 40205. (Record Photo by Jessica Able)
