Cedar Lake ‘Jingle Jog’ will be held Dec. 1 at Norton Commons YMCA

Three Assumption High School students — Erin Burnham, Maddie Cardosi and Hannah Lane — have helped to create a fund-raising event to support Cedar Lake Lodge.

The Cedar Lake Lodge “Jingle Jog,” sponsored by the YMCA in Norton Commons, will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 1. The walk/jog is a two-mile course that will start and end at the new YMCA building near Norton Commons in northeastern Jefferson County.

The trio of students launched the project to help “raise awareness and money for Cedar Lake Lodge, an organization that helps support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” a news release from the students said.

Registration is $10 online and $15 the day of the event. Children under five may participate for free. There will be drinks, a bake sale and activities for children.

Immediately following the “Jingle Jog,” the Norton Commons neighborhood will hold a Holiday Festival from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
