Catholics @ the Capitol set for Feb. 9 in Frankfort

Catholics interested in learning more about legislative issues important to the Catholic Church are invited to attend the annual Catholics @ the Capitol event on Feb. 9 in Frankfort, Ky.

Catholics @ the Capitol is sponsored by the Catholic Conference of Kentucky (CCK), the public policy arm of the state’s four bishops. The conference is promoting legislation important to the church during the 2016 session of the Kentucky General Assembly, which began Jan. 5.

The Catholics @ the Capitol event will begin with prayer by Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz at 8 a.m. at the Capital Plaza Hotel, 405 Wilkinson Blvd.

Jason D. Hall, executive director of the CCK, will give an overview of issues and legislation expected to be discussed in the 2016 Kentucky General Assembly at 8:30 a.m. Following the morning program, attendees will to travel to the Capitol to take part in meetings with senators and representatives.
