Catholic Charities of Louisville unveils its new website at www.cclou.org

By Jessica Able, Record Staff Writer

Visitors to cclou.org will recognize a new layout and design on the Catholic Charities of Louisville’s website — cclou.org.

The new site is designed to be more visually appealing and more engaging, said Elisabeth Walker, director of agency advancement at Catholic Charities.

The charity organization has categorized its programs in three main areas: Welcome, Empower and Strengthen, in an effort to “better communicate the variety of programs we offer,” Walker said.

Under the Welcome tab, readers will discover information regarding refugee and immigrant support services. The Empower tab informs visitors of the “social enterprise initiatives” which provide a “pathway to self-sufficiency.” The last of the three categories is Strengthen. There, readers will learn the ways in which Catholic Charities of Louisville provides social services to individuals of all age groups, such as through the Sister Visitor Center and the Long-term Care Ombudsman program.

Prominent on the site is information regarding ways to volunteer with the various Catholic Charities programs. Visit cclou.org/volunteer to learn more.

Those interested in attending one of the “Catholic Charities Connect Services,” which replaces the former Lunch and Learn Series, can visit cclou.org/news-and-events. The first three workshops focus on Welcome (May 22), Empower (May 31) and Strengthen (June 19).

Also available on the site is information regarding the sale of Kentucky Oaks and Derby boxed lunches. Common Table, a culinary arts program at Catholic Charities that trains refugees, immigrants and other Louisville residents, will offer a variety of lunch options for $15 a box. Several breakfast add-ons are available for $4 each. Lunches may be preordered at cclou.org/derby. The deadline to place orders is May 2 at 3 p.m.
