Catholic Charities needs bikes and household goods for refugees

Catholic Charities’ Migration & Refugee Services, a resettlement service program for refugees, is in need of new or used bikes for children and adults.

“With school ending and the summer season upon us, refugee children and adults are looking to get some exercise and enjoy our community better,” said Chris Clements, the agency’s community resource developer, in a media release. “Our agency is in partnership with both the Knights of Columbus and Trikes for Tikes in repairing and fixing up donated and used bikes for our program.”

Clements noted that refugees use these bikes for transportation, as well.

Catholic Charities’ also is in need of household items, including, lamps, couches, kitchen tables with chairs, chests of drawers, full and twin size beds (frames, mattresses and boxsprings) and other goods (such as towels, bedding, clock radios, kitchen wares and cleaning supplies).
