Refugee children and their families served by Catholic Charities of Louisville were celebrated during a World Refugee Day event June 15.

The children who are attending a summer program at the Charities’ St. Anthony Campus on West Market Street were treated to storytime by the Louisville Free Public Library, made arts and crafts and played soccer during the event. The children and families were also helped by eighth-graders from St. Francis of Assisi School to shop for backpacks, other school supplies and toiletries.

World Refugee Day will be observed June 20.
