Bicentennial celebrations include free concerts Oct. 19 and 20

The Sisters of Loretto and the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth will present two free concerts featuring singer-songwriter “Earth Mama” Joyce Johnson Rouse Oct. 19 and 20 as part of their bicentennial celebrations. The concerts, which are for all ages, are called “Healing the Planet One Song at a Time” and focus on a celebration of the earth.

The Oct. 19 concert will be at 7 p.m. in St. Catharine Hall on the St. Catharine College campus in Springfield, Ky. For more information, email Sister Agnes Ann Schum at aaschum@windstream.net.

The Oct. 20 concert will be held at Spalding University in downtown Louisville in the auditorium at 7 p.m. For more information, email jsmith@scnky.org or visit www.scnfamily.org.

In addition, a “playful” workshop will be presented on Oct. 20 at the Nazareth Retreat Center in Nazareth, Ky., from 9 a.m. to noon. It will include music, movement, creative expression and will explore how one’s lifestyle affects the ecosystem. The cost of the workshop is $15 and includes lunch.
