Bellarmine University to offer sports camp for children with disabilities

Bellarmine University physical therapy students will offer a free interactive sports camp for elementary and middle school students ages 6-13 who have physical and/or cognitive disabilities.

A basketball clinic with the Bellarmine University basketball team will be held on Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon in Knights Hall. A softball clinic with the Bellarmine University softball team will be held on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at the university’s softball field. Those wishing to participate are encouraged to attend both camps.

Children will be encouraged to learn new skills and participate in a low-key environment with the university athletes. Children who use assistive devices such as walkers, canes and wheelchairs are encouraged to come.

The camp will include snacks, water and a free t-shirt.
