Students at Assumption High School participated in the OurEarthNow Carry Your Trash Week where they carried all the trash they generated for one week.
Jennifer Tran, a senior, said she participated in the project to bring awareness of how much trash a typical person creates on a daily basis and to inspire younger kids to become involved in recycling efforts.
The students did not have to carry items that could be recycled or composted.
