Holly Zoeller, a senior at Assumption High School, received a Youth Service Honor award from WLKY-TV during the TV station’s 39th annual WLKY Bell Awards, held Oct. 21 at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville.

The Bell Awards “honor the volunteers in our community who make a difference in the lives of so many,” according to WLKY’s announcement about the awards.

Zoeller started a chapter of the non-profit Operation Smile at Assumption. Operation Smile raises money to provide medical care for children with cleft palates in developing nations.

Zoeller also has served as a mentor to refugee children resettled by Catholic Charities of Louisville’s Migration and Refugee Services and she serves on the We Day Youth Board, according to WLKY’s announcement.
