Assumption holds ‘Mission Week’

AssumptionLogo2015-fAssumption High School is holding its annual Mission Week this week, when students spend time outside the classroom performing acts of service and attend events centered on culture and social justice.

The theme this year revived a slogan Assumption adopted in the late 1980s: “The Power of One: I am a valuable person, I have dignity and worth, and what I do makes a difference.”

The week began with a presentation by Alex Sheen, founder of “Because I said I would,” a nonprofit organization that promotes the “bettering of humanity through the power of words and promises made,” an announcement from Assumption said.
