Ascension students travel to California

The eighth-grade class of Ascension School traveled to Cambria, California, April 21-25 to study environmental science and experience the culture of California’s central coast, said Terrence Mullaney, principal of Ascension.

The students visited tide pools along the Pacific coast; toured an elephant seal rookery; dissected squid; visited a plankton and sea kelp forest study; and observed birds, sea otters and sea caves while kayaking.
