Archbishop announces new appointments

Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz has made the following appointments:

Effective Aug. 27, Father Jonathan M. Erdman and Deacon Stephen Bowling will serve as the co-chaplains for the local Courage Chapter, replacing Father Matthew T. Hardesty.

Father Erdman also serves as associate pastor at St. Margaret Mary Church and is a member of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.

We thank Father Hardesty and Deacon Bowling for their leadership in this effort.

Effective Sept. 15, Father David J. Carr will serve as spiritual director/chaplain and Deacon Joseph Calvert will serve as clergy director for the Archdiocesan Marian Committee, replacing Father Matthew T. Hardesty as director.

Father Carr also serves as associate pastor at St. Martin of Tours Church.

We thank Father Hardesty for serving as chaplain of this committee from March 6, 2015, through September 15, 2019.
