African American Catholic gathering on evangelization planned

The Interregional African American Catholic Evangelization Conference (IAACEC) will be held at the Galt House Hotel, 140 N. Fourth St., June 10 to 12 on the theme “You are My Witness.”

Among the speakers at the conference will be ValLimar Jansen, Dr. Tyrone Powers, Mario Dance, Therese Wilson Favors, Christopher Webb, Dr. Veronica Morgan-Lee, Sister Gwynette Proctor and Dr. Anne Mitchell-Hinton.

The George Findley Institute on Developing Lay Ecclesial Ministers for a Vibrant Church will precede the conference on June 9. The focus of the institute will be evangelization, formation, youth ministry development, Christian leadership and outreach with black youth.

The cost to attend the conference is $150 if registered by May 15; $180 if registered between May 16 and June 1 or $200 after June 1.

The cost to attend the George Findley Institute is $100 if registered by May 15 and $125 after May 15.
