Aberli named Trinity’s 2012 top alumnus

Trinity High School has recognized David A. Aberli with the 2012 Honor Alumnus Award.

The award is presented to a Trinity graduate who has distinguished himself in his professional life; demonstrated the qualities, values and ideals taught at Trinity; and maintained a loyalty to the school.

Aberli, currently Trinity’s director of students, attended St. Joseph Church in Butchertown as a child. After graduating from Trinity in 1975, he attended the University of Louisville where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 1980. In 2009, he earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from Spalding University.

Aberli began his teaching career at Trinity in 1980 as a math teacher. He has taught in the theology department for the last 22 years and also served on the school’s athletic coaching staff.

In addition, Aberli has been a consistent supporter of the Trinity Annual Fund.

Aberli and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 28 years. They have one daughter, Katie, 25, a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and the University of Dayton, and one son, Andrew, 22, who currently attends Jefferson Technical and Community College. The Aberlis are members of St. Albert the Great Church.
