The Archdiocese of Louisville was the top organization donor to the 73rd WHAS Crusade for Children telethon, which concluded June 7 with a total of $6,235,132 in donations.

The Archdiocese of Louisville’s parishes, which held second collections to support the telethon, contributed $311,628 as of June 7.

The top parish contributors outside Jefferson County were: Sacred Heart Church in Liberty, Ky., with $10,500, St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown, Ky., with $6,813 and Immaculate Conception Church in La Grange, Ky., with $5,570.

Among Jefferson County parishes, the top contributors were: St. Albert the Great Church with $9,104, St. Margaret Mary Church with $7,695 and St. Michael Church with $7,667.

The totals reported by the archdiocese were expected to increase as donations continued to arrive after the telethon ended.

During this year’s telethon, representatives of the Archdiocese of Louisville received a special plaque recognizing the archdiocese’s cumulative contributions over the decades. As of this year, the archdiocese has contributed more than $10 million to the Crusade.

Funds from the Crusade “support children with health care, educational, and emotional wellness needs through grants awarded to nonprofit agencies, schools, hospitals, and other organizations serving children throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana,” according to whascrusade.org

Among the grant recipients in 2025 were the Archdiocese of Louisville and other Catholic organizations.
