Dominican Sister of Peace Elaine Shaw died April 28 at Sansbury Care Center in St. Catharine, Ky. She was 91 and in the 65th year of religious life.
Sister Shaw, a native of Massachusetts, was a nurse and hospital chaplain. She served in various hospitals and healthcare facilities, including Mary Immaculate Hospital in Lebanon, Ky., and Sansbury Care Center.
She moved to the St. Catharine Motherhouse in 2002, where she provided community service. She move to Sansbury Care Center in 2021 and began a ministry of prayer and presence.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A sharing of memories will precede a Mass of Resurrection on May 7 at 10 a.m. at Sansbury Care Center Chapel. Burial was in the St. Catharine Motherhouse Cemetery.
