More than 100 children from St. Albert the Great Church community took part in a Vacation Bible School June 8-10 on the church’s campus.

The theme was “Under Construction! Building Our Faith with St. Joseph!” in honor of the Year of St. Joseph proclaimed by Pope Francis in December.

The young participants spent time exploring the life and character of St. Joseph. They heard that, even though he was silent in the Bible, they could learn from him by how he lived, said an announcement about the program.

The children made crafts and played games. The children also brought non-perishable items for a local food pantry.

Thirty-two children and their families also participated in a service project on the last day of VBS. They packaged 10,374 meals for hungry families around the world served by Love the Hungry, a local non-profit.
