Ursuline Sister of Louisville Rose Ann Born, 90, died Nov. 28 at Sacred Heart Home. She joined the Ursuline Sisters in 1944.
Sister Born, a native of Madison, Ind., served for 42 years as an educator in Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Kentucky.
In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at St. Elizabeth, St. Anthony, St. Raphael, St. Therese, St. Helen, Most Blessed Sacrament and St. Timothy schools.
Following her retirement from teaching, Sister Born ministered in Louisville as a nurse assistant at Marian Home, at the Sister Visitor Center, as an assistant to the secretary of Nativity Academy at St. Boniface and in the Ursuline Sisters’ office of finance.
She is survived by her nieces Sandi Miller, Emmy Gray and Ann Henson of Greendale, Ind., as well as other family and members of her Ursuline community.
Visitation will be at the Ursuline Motherhouse, 3115 Lexington Road, on Dec. 1 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel with burial in St. Michael Cemetery, 1153 Charles St.
