Prayers for victims of trafficking

Under a flapping American flag and across the street from Louisville’s Hall of Justice, about 60 people gathered April 29 to pray for victims of human trafficking. Local women religious organized the service at Sixth and Jefferson streets for the week of the Kentucky Derby to raise awareness about the problem at major sporting events.

They prayed victims would be “delivered from their perpetrators’ hands” and for “a hopeful tomorrow.” And they prayed, “May we have the eyes to see and take steps to make our community slave-free.”
