Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz was greeted by Pope Francis at the Vatican Oct. 7. Archbishop Kurtz, vice president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, was among leaders of the USCCB who gathered at the Vatican for an annual meeting.
