Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Hayden Jr., members of Mary Queen of Peace Church, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary March 7. Mrs. Hayden, the former Therese’ Marie Fenwick, retired in February as the clinic manager for the University of Louisville School of Dentistry after more than 40 years of service. Mr. Hayden plans to retire in May as the director of technical and manufacturing research for The American Printing House for the Blind with 41 years of service.

 

 

 

 

Jerry S. and Pamela Suddeth, members of St. Rita Church, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 13. Mrs. Suddeth, the former Pamela Sue Eskridge, retired from UPS. Mr. Suddeth retired from Winn-Dixie and Caesars Southern Indiana. The couple have three children and eight grandchildren. They will celebrate the occasion with family.

 

 

 

 

 

James W. and Mary Jo Combs, members of Immaculate Conception Church in La Grange, Ky., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 20. Mrs. Combs, the former Mary Jo Rutter, retired in 2009 from Toyota Motor Manufacturing. Mr. Combs retired from Whayne Supply in 2012. The couple have three daughters, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gil Recktenwald, members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 20. Mrs. Recktenwald, the former Susan G. Davis, retired as the adult educator coordinator at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton after 22 years. Mr. Recktenwald retired after 35 years as the owner of Audio Video Dynamics. The couple have five children and 13 grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

April 2020

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Leo Timperman, members of Holy Trinity Church, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary April 11. Mrs. Timperman, the former Mary Jeanette Litsey, retired from JCPS. Mr. Timperman retired from Chenoweth Appliances. The couple have two children and three grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

Ed and Margaret George Orrill, members of Ascension Church, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 17. Mrs. Orrill, the former Margaret Carolyn George, retired from Kindred Healthcare in 2014 after 18 years of service. Mr. Orrill retired from Brandeis Machinery in 2016 after 38 years of service. The couple have one daughter and two grandchildren. They will mark the occasion with family.

 

 

 

 

 

David L. and Hanni H. Willmoth, members of St. James Church in Elizabethtown, Ky., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary April 15. Mrs. Willmoth, the former Hanni Hodges, is retired. Mr. Willmoth retired from the City of Elizabethtown after 37 years of service. He served as a council member for 25 years and as mayor for 12 years. The couple have three children and five grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Tony Cissell, members of St. Gabriel Churchcelebrated their 60th wedding anniversary April 22. Mrs. Cissell, the former Jeanie Doyle, retired from St. Gabriel Church. Mr. Cissell retired from Bellsouth. The couple have five children and five grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Mason, members of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary April 21. Mrs. Mason, the former Joan Winters, is a homemaker. Mr. Mason is a retired electrician with 45 years of service. The couple have seven children, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

Art and Donna Monks, members of St. Lawrence Church, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 23. Mrs. Monks, the former Donna Knight, retired from Jefferson County Public Schools. Mr. Monks retired from Yellow Freight. The couple have three children and five grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

James D. and Helen Kline Morgan, members of St. Martha Church, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 24. Mrs. Morgan retired from the religious education program at St. Martha Church, where she was assistant to the director of religious education. Mr. Morgan retired after 36 years of service in the United States Department of the Treasury. The couple have seven children and 14 grandchildren. They celebrated with a trip to Gatlinburg, where they had their honeymoon.

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Calvin D. Wise, members of St. Augustine Church in Lebanon, Ky., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 30. Mrs. Wise, the former Elizabeth Thomas, is a retired teacher. Mr. Wise is also a retired teacher. The couple have three children and four grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

May 2020

Paul and Linda Furmanek, members of Epiphany Church, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary May 2. Mrs. Furmanek is a retired preschool teacher. Mr. Furmanek retired from DuPont after 39 years as a chemical engineer. The couple have four children and nine grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. and Mrs. James S. Redmon, members of St. Martin of Tours Church in Flaherty, Ky., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 8. Mrs. Redmon, the former Brenda J. Vowels, retired from Winn Dixie after 35 years of service. Mr. Redmon is self-employed at Redmond Construction. The couple have four children and four grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. “Bill” Thompson, members of St. Simon and Jude Church, celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on May 14. Mrs. Thompson, the former Bernadine Schweitzer, is a homemaker. Mr. Thompson retired from Ward Engineering Co., Inc., after 55 years of service in 2020. The couple have five children, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jim and Jean Bartley, members of St. Gabriel Church, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on May 15. Mrs. Bartley, the former Anna Jean Stull, retired from the Army Corps of Engineers. Mr. Bartley retired from American Synthetic Rubber Co. The couple have 11 children (one is deceased), 26 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and more than 10 great-great-grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ray and Mary Lou Schmitt, members of St. Albert the Great Church, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary May 22. Mrs. Schmitt, the former Mary Lou Ray, is a homemaker. Mr. Schmitt retired as an engineer, entrepreneur and real estate agent. The couple have seven children and 19 grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mike and Judy Becker, members of St. Margaret Mary Church, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary May 22. Mr. Becker retired after 32 years at the Kentucky Office for the Blind. The couple have five children and eight grandchildren. They will celebrate with a Mass.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Weiter, members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 22. Mrs. Weiter, the former Marlene Schwoeppe, retired from the Federal Reserve Bank. Mr. Weiter retired from Fischer Packing Co. The couple have a daughter and a granddaughter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kevin L. and Terry Craven Curran, members of St. Brigid Church, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 22. Mrs. Curran retired after 33 years as a teacher with Jefferson County Public Schools. Dr. Curran retired from Norton after 35 years as a physician. The couple have two daughters and two grandsons.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tony and Doris Walsh, members of Epiphany Church, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary May 26. Mrs. Walsh, the former Doris Fischer, retired from Sen. Wendell Ford’s office. Mr. Walsh retired as president of United Electric Company. The couple have six children, 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
