Sister Janice Campbell, a teacher, dies at 84

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Janice Campbell, formerly Sister Timothy Joseph, died Nov. 13 at Nazareth Home. She was 84 and had been a religious sister for 60 years.

Sister Campbell, a native of Roanoke, Va., served in education and healthcare ministries in Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri and Arkansas.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, Sister Campbell served as a teacher at St. Joseph School in Bardstown, Ky.

Sister Campbell served as president of Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville for five years. She also served for more than 20 years in the St. Vincent Health System in Little Rock, Ark.

Sister Campbell is survived by her brothers Davis Campbell and Michael Campbell, nieces, nephews and members of her religious community.

Visitation and a prayer service will be held Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Nazareth, Ky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Nov. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul. Burial will follow in Nazareth Cemetery.
