Divine Mercy Sunday, which is April 23, will be celebrated at several parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Following are announcements that have been submitted to The Record:
- St. Athanasius Church, 5915 Outer Loop, will offer confession from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and rosary at 2:30 p.m., followed by Mass and eucharistic adoration and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Father Gary Davis will preside.
- Holy Trinity Church in Fredericktown, Ky., will have exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 2 p.m., reconciliation from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and a Divine Mercy prayer service at 3 p.m. The celebration will conclude with Benediction at 4 p.m. Confessions will be heard afterward as long as needed.
- Incarnation Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, will have reconciliation beginning at 1:30 p.m. and throughout the service. At 2 p.m., the congregation will pray the rosary, hear a Gospel reading, pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and have Benediction.
All are welcome to attend. A Divine Mercy Novena will be prayed beginning with Good Friday. - St. Patrick Church, 1000 N. Beckley Station Road, will offer reconciliation and veneration of the Divine Mercy image, a relic of St. Faustina and an image of St. John Paul II beginning at 1:30 p.m. The rosary will be prayed at 2:15 p.m. and the Divine Mercy Hour will begin at 3 p.m. Father Shayne Duvall will give a presentation and it will include adoration, Benediction and singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Mass will follow.
Father Jeffrey Shooner and others will also serve as confessors. Reconciliation will also be available April 22 from 6 p.m. to midnight, concluding with Benediction. For more information, visit www.stpatrick-lou.org. - St. Raphael Church, at Bardstown Road and Lancashire Avenue, will have reconciliation from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 p.m. and Mass at 3:15 p.m. Father of Mercy Robert Gregor will preside.
