Candle Floating Ceremony will mark the dropping of the atomic bomb

The annual Candle Floating Ceremony, this year marking the 67th anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, will be held at 8 p.m. Aug. 4 at Willow Lake at the corner of

Lexington Road and Grinstead Drive. The ceremony is free and open to the public and is presented by Interfaith Paths to Peace and the Louisville Chapter of the Fellowship of Reconciliation.

The event will include the premier performance of a classical music composition called “Hiroshima Lovers” composed by Collegiate High School student Maya Berkley. A traditional Asian “Lion Dance” will be performed, too.
