Basketball camp

Trinity High School and Sacred Heart Academy came together to host Trinity’s annual “Shooting for the Stars” basketball camp for adults at St. Mary’s Center. The camp was held Oct. 26 in Trinity’s Steinhauser Gymnasium.

Trinity and Sacred Heart players, coaches, trainers and managers led the St. Mary’s Center participants in basketball drills. The camp culminated in a scrimmage game.
St. Mary’s Center is a day-training facility for adults with intellectual disabilities. Trinity has hosted the basketball camp for adults at the center for more than a decade.

Plays scheduled

  • The Trinity High School Department of Theatre Arts will present “The Importance of Being Ernest” Nov. 6, 7, 9, 12, 13, 14 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 17 at 2 p.m.
    All shows will be at the school’s auditorium, 115 N. Sherrin Avenue. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.
  • Mercy Academy will present “Seussical the Musical” Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. Performances will be held in the Stock Yards Bank Theatre at Mercy, 5801 Fegenbush Lane. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.

All-state choir

Andrew Bonacci, a senior at St. Xavier High School, was selected for the Kentucky All-state Men’s Choir.

Bonacci will join other students from the commonwealth for a choral concert in February at the Kentucky Center for the Arts as part of the annual Kentucky Music Educators’ Association Conference.
