World Day of Prayer services are planned

Record Staff Report

Seven churches in the Louisville area will host ecumenical services commemorating the World Day of Prayer on March 3 and 4.

The World Day of Prayer is a “worldwide ecumenical movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year on the first Friday in March,” a news release from the local chairperson said.

The release said that each host church invites other churches in its surrounding area to help plan, lead and attend its World Day of Prayer service. Registration is half an hour before the service. Food and fellowship will immediately follow the service.

March 3 at 10:30 a.m. — Bethel Baptist, 3540 Garland Avenue.

March 3 at 11 a.m. — St. Mark Episcopal, 2822 Frankfort Avenue.

March 3 at 5:30 p.m. — St. Bartholomew, 2042 Buechel Bank Road.
