Way of the Cross 2-9-12

‘Way of the Cross’ will be
held at Catholic cemeteries

Catholic Cemeteries will hold the Way of the Cross for Young Christians at 1 p.m. on Fridays during Lent. The public is invited to pray the Stations of the Cross with children from local Catholic schools at cemeteries around Louisville. The dates and locations are the following:

  • Feb. 24 at Calvary Cemetery. Gather at the St. Phillip Neri Cross in Section 35. Students from St. Bernard School will host this prayer service.
  • March 2 at St. Louis Cemetery. Gather in the Priest Section behind the flagpole. Students from St. James School will host this prayer service.
  • March 9 at St. Michael Cemetery. Gather at the Priest Section. Students from St. Nicholas Academy will host this prayer service.
  • March 16 at St. John Cemetery, located at the intersection of 26th and Duncan Streets, with entrance on Duncan Street. Students from St. Martha School will host this prayer service.
  • March 23 at Calvary Cemetery. Gather at the flagpole near the Newburg Road entrance. Students from St. Agnes School will host this payer service.
  • March 30 at St. Michael Cemetery. Gather at the Priest Section. Students from Nativity Academy and St. Raphael School will host this prayer service.

Walking distance is about 300-400 yards. In the case of severe weather, stations will be cancelled. For more information, call the Catholic Cemeteries office at 451-7710.
