Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph Joan Walz died June 5 in Owensboro, Ky. She was 86 and in her 67th year of religious life.
Sister Walz, a native of Hawesville, Ky., served as a nurse at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville from 1991-1993.
She is survived by her sister Dorothy Jackson of Owensboro, her brother George Walz of Harned, Ky., nieces, nephews and members of her religious community.
Visitation will be July 9 at 4 p.m. on the Mount Saint Joseph, Ky., campus, followed by a wake service at 6:30 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated July 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Saint Joseph.
