Ursuline Sister Evelina Pisaneschi dies at age 89

Ursuline Sister of Louisville Evelina (Roger) Pisaneschi died at Nazareth Home-Clifton on Sept. 19. She was 89 and had been an Ursuline since 1946.

Sister Pisaneschi, a native of Cumberland, Md., served as a teacher in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Indiana. In Louisville she taught at St. Elizabeth, St. Peter Claver, St. Boniface, Sacred Heart Model and Our Lady of Lourdes schools. She also taught at Bellarmine-Ursuline College.

She served as a principal of Holy Spirit, St. Therese and St. John Vianney schools.

She also was assistant to the director of Ursuline Campus Services and volunteered at the motherhouse and Nazareth Home-Clifton.

She is survived by her sisters Janet Pisaneschi of Louisville and Pat Pisaneschi Killen of Decatur, Tenn.; nieces; nephews and the Ursuline community.

Visitation will be at the Ursuline Motherhouse, 3115 Lexington Road, on Sept. 25 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel with burial in St. Michael Cemetery.
