Ursuline Sister Consuelo Price, 93, dies

Ursuline Sister Consuelo Price, who taught for many years, died April 19 at Mercy Sacred Heart Village in Louisville. She was 93 and had been an Ursuline Sister since 1942.
Sister Price was a native of Wilmington, N.C., and was raised in Cumberland, Md.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at Our Lady of Lourdes School from 1958 to 1962, served as assistant librarian at Ursuline College from 1962 to 1968 and was head librarian at Sacred Heart Model School from 1964 to 1968). She also taught at schools in Evansville, Ind., Nebraska, South Carolina and in Maryland.

Sister Price earned a bachelor’s degree from Ursuline College and a master’s degree from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Doris Ann Price of Franklin, N.C., a niece, nephew and cousins, and the Ursuline community.

Visitation will be at the Ursuline Motherhouse, 3115 Lexington Road, on April 20 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 21 at 10 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel, with interment in St. Michael Cemetery.
