Students send help to hurricane victims

archloulogo-wStudents in the Archdiocese of Louisville recently raised money to aid survivors of hurricanes.

Assumption High School students, faculty and staff raised more than $4,500 during a dress down day Sept. 8. The money was donated to Catholic Charities of Louisville to help survivors of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, which caused death and destruction in Texas and Florida in August and September.

Students at St. Leonard School observed “Texas Day” Sept. 22. They “adopted” McAdams Junior High School in Dickinson, Texas, and raised close to $300 from a dress down day. The money purchased toiletries, school supplies and clothing for the school’s students. St. Leonard students also wrote encouraging letters and cards.
