Stations planned at Catholic cemeteries on Fridays during Lent

The Archdiocese of Louisville’s Catholic Cemeteries will host the Station of the Cross at 1 p.m. each Friday this Lenten season. Students from local schools will lead The Way of the Cross for Young Christians outdoors.

The first service is set for Feb. 16 at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road. Stations, led by St. Raphael School students, will begin at the St. Philip Neri Cross in Section 35.

The next one is planned for Feb. 23 at St. Louis Cemetery, 1167 Barret Avenue. Stations, led by St. Thomas Aquinas Home School, will begin in the priest section behind the flag pole.

The walking distance will be 300 to 400 yards. Services will be cancelled when severe weather is expected. Call the Catholic Cemeteries office with questions at 451-7710.
