St. Xavier graduates win Fulbright Scholarship to teach English abroad

Paxton Duff, Kyle Hilbrecht and Christian Bush, 2014 graduates of St. Xavier High School, have won Fulbright Scholarships sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Fulbright U.S. Student Program.

The Fulbright Scholarship is “highly competitive and provides merit-based grants for students to study and work abroad,” according to a press release from St. Xavier High School.

Duff graduated from Centre College with undergraduate degrees in Spanish and politics this month. He will serve as an English teaching assistant in Mexico.

Hilbrecht, graduated from the University of Louisville with a bachelor’s degree in political science this month. He will travel to Laos where he will serve as an English teaching assistant.

Bush, who also graduated from the University of Louisville in May with undergraduate degrees in political science, Asian studies and history, will serve as an English teaching assistant in Macau on the south coast of China.
