St. James in Elizabethtown, Ky., to host David Haas in concert Nov. 17

St. James Church in Elizabethtown, Ky., will host a concert featuring David Haas Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.

Haas is a composer of liturgical music and has to his credit well-known hymns, such as “You Are Mine,” “Song of the Body of Christ,” “We are Called” and “Blest Are They.”

Haas’ career spans more than 30 years and he has composed and produced more than 50 collections of original liturgical music, according to a press release from St. James. Haas is also the author of more than 30 books on liturgy, liturgical music, youth ministry, catechesis, prayer and spirituality.

Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance and $15 at the door. Children age 12 and under enter free. Tickets can be bought by calling 270-734-0713 or following weekend Mass at St. James Church, St. Christopher Church in Radcliff, Ky., St. John the Baptist Church in Rineyville, Ky., and St. Brigid Church in Vine Grove, Ky.

Those planning to attend the concert are asked to bring a personal care item to be collected for needy individuals served by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
