St. Augustine in Lebanon will celebrate bicentennial

St. Augustine Church in Lebanon, Ky., will kick off its bicentennial celebration April 12 by releasing 200 balloons.

Parishioners will have the opportunity to write a prayer on a slip of paper which will be inserted into the balloons. The release will take place in the Rosary Garden following the 3 p.m. Divine Mercy prayer service.

Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz and priests who have served at the parish will celebrate a bicentennial Mass Aug. 15 at 4 p.m. A meal will follow.

In addition, the parish will place a time capsule below the church Oct. 18. The event will include a potluck dinner and live music.
