St. Athanasius School and LMPD form a partnership

RecordLogo-FSt. Athanasius School, 5915 Outer Loop, and the Louisville Metro Police Department’s (LMPD) Seventh Division have formed a partnership as part of Mayor Greg Fischer’s Give A Day week of service, which was April 15-23 this year.

Officers from the Seventh Division — which includes the Fern Creek, Highview and Okolona neighborhoods — visited and played with students during recess and ate lunch with them during the Give A Day week.

On April 15, the LMPD landed one of its helicopters on the school’s campus where students met and spoke to the pilot. This will be an on-going relationship, according to the school. Officers will continue to visit during recess and will help with activities during field day May 25.
