Sister of Loretto Rose Henry Higdon dies

Sister of Loretto Rose Henry Higdon, 95, died June 15 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary in Nerinx, Ky. She was in her 70th year of religious life.

Sister Higdon, a native of St. Lawrence, Ky., taught for more than 40 years in Kentucky, Colorado, Missouri and Wyoming. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at St. Augustine School in Lebanon, Ky., and the old St. Benedict School in Louisville and Loretto Public School in Loretto, Ky.

She is survived by her brother Victor Higdon of Louisville.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 20 at the Church of the Seven Dolors on the grounds of the Loretto Motherhouse. Burial was in the Loretto Community Cemetery on the motherhouse grounds. Donations in her memory may be made to the Loretto Community, care of the Loretto Development Office, 4000 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Littleton, Co., 80123-1308.
