Sister of Charity of Nazareth Patricia Kelly, 89, dies

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Patricia Kelley, 89, a native of Lexington, Ky., died April 24 at Nazareth Home in Louisville. She had been an SCN for 71 years.

Sister Kelly served in elementary education and as a music teacher at Holy Name School in Louisville from 1942 to 1947. She also taught at St. Thomas More School in Louisville from 1947 to 1952, and she served in India as both an educator and as formation director and director of junior professesed for the SCN Congregation.

She returned to the U.S. in 1977 and later served in Belize.

Survivors include nieces and members of her religious community.

Visitation will be held April 25 at 4 p.m. in St. Vincent Church in Nazareth, Ky. There will be a prayer service at St. Vincent at 6:30 p.m. following the visitation.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. April 26 at St. Vincent Church. Burial will be in Nazareth Cemetery.
