Sister of Charity of Nazareth Carleen Marie Mouser, 87, dies

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Carleen Marie Mouser died at Nazareth Home on May 12. She was 87 and had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 69 years.

Sister Mouser, a native of New Haven, Ky., served in elementary education in Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky and Massachusetts as teacher and principal for 30 years. She also served in healthcare in Kentucky for 26 years as a pastoral associate and chaplain at both St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky., and Flaget Hospital in Bardstown, Ky.

Sister Mouser lived at the Nazareth Motherhouse from 2002 to 2008 and moved to Nazareth Home in 2008 where she served in the apostolate of prayer until her death.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews and religious community.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated May 15,  at  10:30 a.m. in St. Vincent Church in Nazareth, Ky., followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery.

Visitation will be on May 14 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Nazareth Home and after 4 p.m. in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth. There will be a prayer service at St. Vincent at 6:30 p.m. following the visitation.
