Sister of Charity of Nazareth Laurine Dichtel, educator, dies

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Laurine Dichtel, 91, died Feb. 5 at Nazareth Home. She had been a professed Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 64 years.

Sister Dichtel, a native of Memphis, Tenn., primarily served in education. She taught science, English and religion at schools in Arkansas, Maryland, Tennessee and in the Kentucky Dioceses of Covington and Owensboro.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews and their families and by her religious community.

A prayer service will be held Feb. 9 at 1:30 p.m. at Nazareth Home, 2000 Newburg Road.

A prayer vigil will take place at St. Vincent Church in Nazareth, Ky., Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 12 at St. Vincent. Burial will be in Nazareth Cemetery.
