Sister Bridget Cottle, an educator, dies at 83

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Bridget Cottle, 83, a native of Middletown, Ohio, died June 10 at Nazareth Home in Louisville. She had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 63 years.

Sister Cottle served in elementary education as both a teacher and principal for 25 years. In Louisville, she taught at Most Blessed Sacrament, St.Matthias and Holy Name schools.

Survivors include nieces and nephews and a devoted cousin, Msgr. Paul Metzger of Middletown, Ohio. She is also survived by members of her religious community.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. in St. Vincent Church in Nazareth, Ky., on June 13. There will be a Prayer Service in the church at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.    

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated June 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Church with burial in Nazareth Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to SCN Missions, P.O. Box 9, Nazareth, Ky., 40048.
