Shanley named writer in residence at Spalding

John Patrick Shanley, winner of an Academy Award for screenwriting and the Pulitzer Prize for drama, has been named the Diana M. Raab Distinguished Writer in Residence for Spalding University’s low-residencey Master of Fine Arts in Writing program.

Shanley will give a public presentation May 27 at 5:15 p.m. at the Brown Hotel, 335 W. Broadway. The event is free, ticketless and open to the public.

The Diana M. Raab Distinguished Writer in Residence fund was established in 2011 through a gift from Raab, an alumna of the Spalding Master of Fine Arts in Writing program.
