Recycling event set at Mellwood Arts Center May 11 will benefit charity

A one-stop drop free recycling event will be held at the Mellwood Arts Center, 1860 Mellwood Ave., May 11 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The public is invited to drop off a variety of items for recycling or reuse, including household furniture and supplies that will be reused by Catholic Charities of Louisville.

Other items that will be accepted are cell phones, shoes (new and old), clothing, electronics, rechargeable batteries, items for babies and children, medical supplies and a host of other things. Personal documents can also be shredded on site.
