Passionist Father Emmet Linden dies at 95

Passionist Father Emmet Linden died on Sept. 3 at Nazareth Home. He was 95 and had been a Passionist for  73 years.

Father Linden, a native of Chicago, served at parishes in Chicago, Detroit and Louisville. In the Archdiocese of  Louisville, he as an associate pastor and pastor at St. Agnes Church and St Rita Church.

He professed first vows as a Passionist in 1944 and was ordained a priest in 1951.

In retirement, he moved into the Passionist Community adjacent to St. Agnes in 2009.

He is survived by his sister, Dolores Carroll of Hinsdale, Ill., and his nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Sept. 8 at St. Agnes and burial was to be in the Passionist section of All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Ill.
